FAQ

Can I have insurance receipts for my Pilates sessions?

Can I get insurance Receipts?
Insurance receipts are provided by those instructors who are members of the Quebec’s Naturotherapy Association: Cassandra and Francine. They are available only for Private Sessions. Contact us if you have any questions.

Can I try Pilates at Espace Pilates?

Yes, you can schedule one session ‘A la carte’ and then you will have a better idea when you’d like to continue with a package. For most sessions, a package of 10 sessions is available, and the full 10 sessions is paid in advance.

Can I cancel my class?

Yes, you can cancel as soon as you know and up to 24 hours in advance. Under 24 hours means that you are going to late-cancel. You will be able to let us know by emailing us, but you can not cancel to retake the session at another time. If you are feeling under the weather, it is best to cancel as soon as possible and then re-book if that session is still available near the 24 hours window for private and semi-private and up to the last minute for group classes.

Are your classes bilingual?

Yes, all our instructors are bilingual and can provide your private or semi-private in English or French. In a group class, they can teach a bilingual class and adapt to their group.

What do I bring to my session?

You don’t need to bring anything to the studio other than a bottle of water if you’d like. Wear comfortable sports pants and a shirt. You may bring sticky socks or regular socks if you’d like. Please make sure your clothing doesn’t have pointy objects, such as zippers to protect the equipment upholstery.

I will start Pilates later, when I will be in shape, healthy, etc.

Pilates meets each person where they are at in their body. We have worked with people with long-standing injuries, we have worked with people who are 80 years young, and we have worked with athletes and professional dancers at the height of their performing career. One on one privates meet you where your body is at, at this moment. Espace Pilates is a safe space to start moving towards health and joy of movement. So go ahead and take the first step, and then the next.

I have an injury, a restriction, a condition. Can I take a group class?

It’s always ideal to start with private sessions for everyone. However, if there is an injury, restriction, or contraindication, it is absolutely required to take a Private one on one appointment with one of our fully certified instructors. Mention to the instructor at the beginning of the workout that you wish to join group classes if appropriate, this way the instructor is aware, and can plan your workout in order to assess if you can join a group class safely right away or if private sessions are the first step.

I’m pregnant, can I do Pilates?

Private one on one workouts are invaluable throughout the pregnancy and postnatal period. If you have already been practicing Pilates, group classes may be continued up to the end of the first trimester with your doctor’s clearance. Please note, our group classes are not adapted to pregnancy, however the privates offer all the benefits of a personalized workout.
